From 1 May 2026, selected local buses in Svendborg Municipality will be free of charge. The scheme makes it easier to travel between smaller towns and the larger town bus and train connections in the area.

Selected free local bus routes on weekdays

The local buses operate one departure in the morning and three in the afternoon and are mainly used by school students and commuters travelling to and from school or work. The buses do not operate during school holidays.

The permanent scheme applies to local routes 200, 201, 210, 211, 215, 220, 221, 222, 223, 225 and 226.

Selected free town bus routes on weekends

On weekends and public holidays, selected town buses can be used free of charge.

The following town bus routes are free on weekends and public holidays:

Route 230: Grønnemosevej – Banegårdspladsen – Marslevvej

Route 240-41: Rantzausminde – Banegårdspladsen – Grasten on Thurø

Route 250: Tved – Banegårdspladsen – Troense

The scheme does NOT apply to the regional bus routes 930–932.
