The world’s largest single-handed boat race starts and finishes in Svendborg. 460 participants come from all over Europe to compete in the solo race all the way around Funen.
The record is 15 hours and 34 minutes, but most racers spend more than 24 hours at sea before returning to Svendborg – and even longer if the wind dies down. The race requires total concentration from the participants in their battle against the clock, the competition, the weather, and their own stamina.
You can help cheer the racers on when the race starts on the morning of Friday, 17. September 2021. The racers reach the finish line over the course of the weekend, and it is an impressive sight when the participating boats with their colourful spinnakers enter the Svendborgsund strait. While the tough and very tired racers cross the finish line on Saturday, there will be activities for the whole family around Svendborg Harbour.
