From Farm to Fork

Byens Gårdbutik makes it easier to shop locally sourced food. We offer a wide selection of seasonal produce and tasty products from farms around South Fyn to the people of Svendborg. We get all of our products straight from the local farms and food producers and sell them in our store at Vestergade 25.

Local Food

Our mission is to support small food producing businesses from South Fyn and the surrounding islands and inspire our customers to shop locally, all year round. We focus on selling local food products based – to the greatest possible extent – on locally grown produce. That benefits our health, the environment and the local economy. When you shop at Byens Gårdbutik, you help support small businesses and get fresh, in-season produce without the need for long-distance transportation. You also get hand-made and unique quality products, which cannot be found in regular supermarkets. And since we know all the food producers personally, we are able to tell you the story behind each product.

Café

Byens Gårdbutik also has a café where you can enjoy a locally sourced light meal or have a coffee and a slice of cake or a piece of locally produced chocolate. The café is open at lunch time and offers seating indoors as well as in our backyard.

Byens Gårdbutik is supported by AOF with the purpose of creating a social-minded company, providing a tolerant workplace for people on the fringes of the regular job market, and contributing to skill assessment and development.
