Hjortø

 Hjortø is one of the smallest and most untouched islands in the
South Funen archipelago with only 8 inhabitants. The island is reached
by the little ferry. Hjortø is carless and has no grocer, pub or church.
On the other hand here reigns peace and quiet and a very rich fauna and flora
and several child-friendly beaches are typical features.

The flora on Hjortø includes the many-flowered buttercup, and among the animals the rare fire-bellied frog that
has survived in the South Funen archipelago thanks to the many small ponds and the mild climate.

In the little village with its old half-timbered farms you are often welcome
to camp. The harbour moors 25 boats plus the ferry from Svendborg
